Terms & Conditions

Introduction

Money Drop is an interactive mobile application (App) managed and operated by MTV Channel Private Limited (referred to as "MTV", "we", "us" or "our") to enhance viewer engagement with the Money Drop television programme. These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the App, including all features. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may immediately cease use and uninstall the App. We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time.

Acceptance of Terms and Eligibility

Your use of the App constitutes your acceptance of these Terms. The App is intended solely for entertainment and audience interaction purposes linked to the Money Drop TV programme. Participation does not guarantee selection, prizes, or any other benefit. You must be at least 16 years of age to use the App independently.

User Accounts

To fully access features, you may need to create an account by providing details such as name, mobile number, and email. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities occurring under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or breach. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion for any reason, including suspected violations.

Prohibited Activities

You are not permitted to:

• Edit, alter, modify, adapt, translate, or otherwise change the whole or any part of the App nor permit the whole or any part of the App to be combined with or become incorporated in any other software, nor decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the App or attempt to do any such things.
• Reproduce, copy, distribute, resell, or otherwise use the App for any personal or commercial purpose.
• Allow any third party to use the App on behalf of or for the benefit of any third party.
• Use the App in any way which breaches any applicable local, or international law.
• Manipulate results, use bots, scripts, automated tools, or multiple accounts to gain unfair advantage.
• Harass other users, post illegal, offensive, or infringing content, or engage in any activity that disrupts the App.
• Use the App for purposes MTV considers a breach of these Terms. Violations may result in immediate account termination and further legal action.

Intellectual Property and Ownership

Ownership of all intellectual property rights of the App and the content therein shall at all times remain with MTV and/or the respective rights holders. All content made available within the App, including but not limited to quiz questions, formats, concepts, graphics, audio-visual material, and branding, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws and may be owned by MTV or third parties who have licensed such content to MTV. Such content shall not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or otherwise used outside the App without the prior written consent of the applicable rights holder. You agree that you shall not directly or indirectly at any time do or suffer to be done any act or thing which will in any way impair or might jeopardize any intellectual property right associated with the App and MTV. Any unauthorized use of the service and the content contained therein shall amount to the violation of trademark and copyright laws as well as the laws of privacy and MTV shall not be held responsible for the same. Except as expressly provided herein, nothing contained herein shall be construed as conferring any license or right under any copyright or other intellectual property right.

You acknowledge that the 'App' and all its content, including content, software, graphics, and trademarks and all intellectual property (herein after the 'IP'), are the proprietary property of MTV and its licensors. By using the App, you are not granted any license to such IP, its only for you to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the App or its IP.

You hereby agree that no rights to any IP are transferred to you. Furthermore, you hereby agree that the use of this App, does not mean the transfer of exclusive rights and (or) ownership rights to the specified results of intellectual activity in any volume (in whole or in part) to you and (or) third parties. No rights to any content of the App, including, but not limited to, audiovisual works, text and graphic materials, software, and trademarks, are transferred to you or to any third parties as a result of using this App and accepting this terms and conditions.

User Content

Any content you submit (e.g., quiz responses) grants MTV a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and display such content, including usernames and scores, in connection with in-app leaderboards and their display on social media platforms and television. You warrant that your content does not infringe any third-party rights and complies with these Terms. MTV may remove / modify any content at its discretion.

Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including uninterrupted access or accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MTV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from App use.

Limitations and Modifications to Service

Reasonable efforts shall be made by us to keep this App operational. However, technical difficulties, maintenance upgrades, testing or updates may from time-to-time result in temporary interruptions. We reserve the right to suspend or interrupt the service from time-to-time on recurring basis to improve the features and functions of the App. Where advance notice is possible, you shall be notified and reasonable efforts shall be made to ensure minimum interruptions of this nature.

By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge and agree that MTV and authorised representatives of MTV are entitled to remove content from the App from time to time without notice.

Indemnification

You agree to protect, defend, and indemnify us and hold us and our associate companies, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and representatives harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from or related to, (i) your access to and use of the App in violation of these Terms, (ii) your infringement, or infringement by any other user of your account, of any intellectual property or other right of anyone, or (iii) any content you submit or activities conducted through your account.

Termination

These Terms are effective from your first use and shall continue until terminated. You may terminate by uninstalling and ceasing use of the App. Termination shall also accrue in the event of violation of any terms and conditions. All provisions which by their nature or express terms are intended to survive termination, including but not limited to provisions relating to intellectual property rights, warranties, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law, shall survive any termination of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
